So whether you want a dark cherry red, or a fire engine red, red hair is a great way to get noticed.
How I dyed Su’s hair red:
Now with Su’s hair she had previously had it bleached, and then re-dyed with a mix of tint’s. These old tint colours had now faded out leaving a light golden brown on the mid-lengths and ends, with her natural very dark brown roots coming though.
Now if her hair had been all natural I could have just used the desired dye straight away, but because her hair had been previously bleached I needed to do a ‘Pre-Pigmentation’.
What is ‘Pre-Pigmentation’?
‘Pre-Pigmentation’ is required on hair that has too many missing color pigments (eg: previously bleached) This is because Dye needs color pigments in the hair to hold on to.
